The Face

She was walking on the pavement of the street,
a fertive walk in the mid of the evening,
scared of getting confronted by no one but some ugly goon,
two books in hands folded to herself,
I wanted to see her face but I couldn't.

She was slim, wearing a white top
with red and green flowers on it,
a burgundy jeans with bottom cut,
accompanied by a pair of brown sandal,
she seemed simple but attractive,
attractive in everything,
I wanted to see her face but I couldn't.

I started following,
following like a tiger eyeing the prey,
she noticed it, she slowed her walk,
I hid myself behind in a corner,
she turned and looked back but found no one,
she started walking again, faster,
I started following again,
her walk said she is scared and frowned,
she must be sweating hard,
I just wanted to see her face but I couldn't.

I didn't know who she was and where did she came from,
I din't know where she is heading and what she wanted,
but I followed,
I took a turn
for the shortest path of the last crossing of the road,
it brought me near to her
but still I didn't get to see her face.

My temptation was getting high,
I started walking fast,
she started running, fast, faster on a calm and silent road,
I didn't want to upset her
but I couldn't think of anything,
never thought of being labelled as a stalker
but all I wanted was to see her face.

I was getting closer, I shouted
"Excuse me", "hello", "excuse me",
she didn't turn back but rammed her speed,
the road was coming to a dead end,
nowhere she can go now without crossing me,
I got slower and waited for her to stop,
she stopped and so did I,
I was sweating, breathing fast,
chocked and tried to handle myself.

We stood at a distance,
she is about to turn now,
I am the most curious person on earth now,
staring and craving to see her face,
she moves slowly backwards,
two steps backwards away from the wall,
she starts turning at her position,
facing towards me and there she is.

The face I was dying to see,
the face I wanted the most,
the face that became my destiny for past 10 minutes,
and now there is the face of lifetime.

Cheeks so beautiful like strawberry,
eyes like those of hidden precious pearls in the ocean deep,
a glare so electric,
the shine of hair like black clouds in the sky,
a glimpse of little two year kid willing to catch a butterfly,
a glance that could shine the horizon without sun,
innocence so pure, looks so gentle.

She was standing still
still like a painted life in a garden,
she was standing frozen
frozen like a tree in the snowfall,
still sweating, still breathing hard,
just wanting to say to her that
'she is the most beautiful girl I have ever seen'.

I was facing her, she didn't take her eyes off me,
she was looking in my eyes straight,
I said the words, the words that I never said before,
she blinked, her eyes relaxed,
she said with her soft but trembling voice:
"I am scared, I want to go home.".

I moved aside making way for her,
but didn't took my eyes off her,
she started moving, no more in fear,
with the same walk, with the same her,
I stood there looking her go.

My mouth was completely dry,
lots of words in heart,
but unable to recall how to pronounce them,
wish I could ask her for a coffee or a walk,
anything for her but she is gone now,
time to move myself from that place.

Just for a second I looked down and got surprised,
astonished by what I saw,
this was impossible but it happened in that barn plain,
there were flowers near my shoes,
the flowers that were on the top she was wearing,
the same red and green flowers.
my legs were jammed.
Those 15 minutes just passed before my eyes.

Who was she?
why did she made me chase her?
why did she brought me to this dead end?
it is unanswered,
and all I am left with is
'I just saw her face'.
