Is that my shadow ?

When I see you
I see nothing but an illusionary image
An image that makes my heart grow fonder
For I never thought you would leave me
You were just like me except that
You did not have eyes
No gestures but just a figure
A figure that rises with sun
And that sets with sun
What if I could have you forever
But that can not happen
You are not for granted
Even though they say you are
You are with me when I am happy
And I find you nowhere when I am alone
You demand light but I live in dark
You Condemn darkness
But you don’t confront it
You represent the myth of perfection
A perfect fellow for nothing
For owns sake in tired world
Today I hold up the world
And you seek my shelter
Your lame behavior
Your ironically truthful nature
Your deaf ears and nihilistic posture
Always makes me ask
Is that really my shadow ?

Brainy Toys

I saw that festival,
of all those toys running on mechanical key,
among them are those brainy people,
and somehow they got the nerve,
nerve to chirp in the space,
for all the things they can't solve,
no point in talking of intellect
when you have a headache,
backed by tyranny and autocracy,
those toys,
they are loved for what they do,
for what they preach,
I am telling you,
you give them an opportunity
and they will eat you
just like they eat everybody's minds.

The Spell

I told them not to involve
and now they are paying
for what they shouldn't have done,
who is spared under the spell
and who can resist,
for they are not sadhu
or magician of emotions,
forgive me for nothing
forget me for nothing
but for what I haven't done
and for what I am not going to do,
its not me but the spell
the spell of deceptive warmth
the spell of unimaginable sensation
the spell of blue eyes
the spell of cursed smile,
its all coming out
and its all in vain
feeling of everything
but absolute pain,
its smooth and shiny
its full of colours,
they are emotions
no sir, not at all
this is how spell works
you forget what you are
delusions become reality
horizons become infinite
water becomes cohesive
and when you face it
you are gone in the darkness
hard to digest but yes,
you were under the spell.

What is Your Name.

Surname plays a very important role in almost every field in India, be it sports or administration or studies or anything that I haven’t gone through. Everyone wants to utilize the surname as much as possible. After all, it’s a legacy of our forefathers who didn’t know that this could harm the thinking at the extent of blood. Well, this is not what I am going to tell you right now but a story of a boy who had to undergo a lot of ridiculously funny situations just because he has the surname of the ruling family.

The story begins when a poor family of Brijesh Drupad finally gets a boy as a gift of god after 3 daughters. They name the boy as Panna Drupad. After all the celebrations, Brijesh decides to register the name Panna Drupad as his son’s name in the municipality. After standing for 4 hours in the office, Brijesh gets to speak with the babu there. Babu gives him the form and looks at him with an eerie eye. Brijesh ignores it and starts filling the form. The babu says that drop the form in the box because it’s the lunch time and he will take care of the form after he takes the lunch. Brijesh completes the form slowly as he is 2nd class drop out from the school of his village. After depositing the form, he comes to the home and starts playing with his son. His eyes are like the 'Panna' and were giving a glittering looks of a real pearl.

Brijesh goes to the municipality office to take the certificate of the registered name for his son but the destiny had something else for him. The name was rejected and he was beaten badly for arguing about why the name was rejected. He couldn’t do anything and had to return to the home. He goes to the Pandit’s home and asks for another name but the Pandit says that Panna is the best name for his son otherwise he might face problem in growing up and may suffer from malnutrition. Brijesh is in great trouble.

Next day, a municipality babu comes to his home and gives him the certificate for the new name of his son: Shyamdas Drupad. Brijesh rejects it at first and warns the babu that if anything bad happens to his son, then he will kill the whole family of that babu. Babu run from that place instantly.

Brijesh is called in the municipality office. The senior officer offers him the tea and toast and asks him why he can’t choose another name for his son. Brijesh bluntly asks why do everyone want him to change the name. The officer frowns and throws the tea on him. Brijesh saves himself from the attempt and runs from the place. He decides that he is going to the collector to ask for the justice. He goes to the city and finds the collectorate in 2 days. He reaches there and asks for the appointment with the collector which he is denied.
He sits outside the collectorate and demands an appointment. A newspaper reporter sees him with the certificate of municipality in his hand and approaches him to ask what the problem is. Brijesh tells the whole story in one breath and asks if he can arrange the meeting. After listening the whole story, the reporter understands all the problem in just one second that this villager is not given this name because the son of the chief minister has the same name and in the next to next elections, Panna Drupad is going to be the next CM, so they cant allow anyone to have a family name with complete resemblance. He takes Brijesh to his office and arrange his one of the good friends of a news channel to cover the news.

Brijesh gives in writing that he is denied the name of Panna Drupad for his son just because of the similarity of the name of the ruling family. Just after the seconds of release of the news, the matter becomes of great importance because a common man is denied the freedom to have a name of his own choice in a democratic country. The matter reaches to the high command. Meetings are held to solve the matter and retain the name.

CM: “ solve this matter with immediate effect. I want the name to be retained by our family only.”
Secretary: “sir we have a settlement scheme if you wish to hear.”
CM hears the whole scheme and finally agrees to it. Brijesh is given the name Panna Drupad for his son immediately and the matter resolves with the wows of CM saying that every person in India have right to chose his own name. Brijesh returns home happily with the certificate.

After 4 years, Brijesh’s son is going to the school. He is denied the admission on the grounds of unavailability of seats. He wanted his son to study in English medium but due to refusal received from everywhere, he has to send his son the the local government school of the town. His son is punished everyday for the No Homework Done reason even though his son completes it on time.

Brijesh knows that he is getting older and can’t handle the problems with son at the time when his daughters are of the age of getting married. His daughters are denied everywhere for marriage. The problems are shooting one by one. His Kirana store is now next to hell because the other nearby shop is now butcher stand. One day, a municipal babu reaches his shop and asks for a bidi. He asks, how his son is ? Is the name going well ? Brijesh looks him going through the passage and decides something.

Today, Brijesh’s daughters are married. His son is in class 11th.
Attendance time: Kumar Shyamdas !
Brijesh’s son: Yes teacher.

The Last Sigh

From the edge of cliff
standing side by side together,
looking up in the sky high
and as far as horizon can see us,
thinking of nothing but a dim orange sun
setting in the near west,
and glittering shapes of pigeons fly by,
holding hand in hand like in a garden
with the sounds of water flowing on eardrums,
in the finale of moments shared,
with the last deep breath and a last sigh
we set off to meet the eternal truth.

What Are You Going To Do?

What are you going to do about those who don’t exist?
Those who were never meant to be there
But they were there,

They were very close to you
You were very close to them
‘em used to think about you
You used to think about ‘em
But they aren't here now,

What are you going to do about that?
Regret?
Cry?
Curse?
Punch the wall?
Jump?
Nah…..
You are brave enough to take the challenges
You are the one who has shown the path to you life
No matter they are absent
They are meant to be absent now,

Take those who are present with you
The you whom they know
The they whom you know
Know damn well,
Its not a compensation
Its not a consolation
Its not mere drama of life
It’s the way things go
It’s the way emotions unfold
The connections establish and break,

And you are the one who is chosen
Chosen to live among thousands
Thousand who die everyday
Everyday that you see with you eyes open
So let it be what it wants to be
Let it take you wherever it wants to go
With whomsoever it wants to go
Its you inner shell that will keep on loving you
No matter you accept it or not,

So now tell me:
What are you going to do about those who don’t exist?

Door of Love

I am looking for what i don't have
I am searching for what I have lost
and what I couldn't find,
something that came from you
a laughter and then a lovely threat
those eyes filled with care and love
and my inability to understand that
a passion for you inside my heart,
no words to explain any of that
and if I do, denied cruelly by your eyes,
between the grave silence
I can hear you reaching the door
and now I stand to hear a knock
that I hv always been waiting for,
that I never expected u will leave me forever
but here I am, and there you are,
not a distance of miles,
but distance of a door
and the door is knocked
the sweetest sound of my life
and with all those moments in my heart I spent with you,
I open the door .........................
