Music is an important part of life and helps many people in
getting rid (forgetting at least for sometime) of the daily tensions that unease
the flow of smooth life. I listen to music to relax and give my brain some
break from routines. My taste in music is limited to some artists but I don’t
mind listening to various other artists every now and then for a change.
Mostly I listen to instrumental music out of which the work
of Gheorghe Zamfir, Richard Clayderman and Yanni are my favorite. Gheorghe
Zamfir’s Pan Flute and Richard Clayderman’s Piano albums are unparallel to
anything that I have ever come across. They are soothing, relaxing,
entertaining and touches the deepest point of my consciousness. Zamfir’s ‘Claire
de Lune’ and ‘Don’t cry for me Argentina’ makes me feel like I am alone in my
room with dusty wind blowing outside in a temperature of 45 degrees centigrade
and trees are just trying to contain their leaves so that they don’t get blown
away.
Apart from instrumental, I listen to Dash Berlin’s music
work when I am in party mood. Berlin’s music is something that won’t let you sit
still and would fill you with all the enthusiasm and vigour needed to live a
life. It boosts the confidence level in me and relaxes my muscles in its own
mysterious and peculiar way. David Guetta’s electronic music work is also worth
mentioning in party music section.
In Indian music, I like A.R. Rehman’s work very much. He uses
the instruments in such a way that no other Indian movie musician does (Indian
movies are a big source of music in India). There is classical Indian music too
that I don’t listen on regular basis but whenever I listen to that work, I feel
the cultural roots inside me taking shape in the form of a musical ocean and
pouring of sounds from different rivers of instruments.
So, this was my music exposure, what about yours? I will be glad
to learn about your taste in music.
